Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to talk about difficult experiences?

No, unless you choose to.

Will we do hands-on work?

Only if we agree that it is appropriate for your case and your goals.

Do I need to have a specific diagnosis or problem?

No. If your intuition suggests you may need some support, we can trust in that alone.

Is somatic therapy the same as traditional psychotherapy?

No. Somatic therapy incorporates sensory regulation and embodiment practices in conjunction with thought awareness.

How is this different from pelvic health therapy?

One doesn’t need to have a pelvic health concern for somatic therapy to be beneficial. However, if you have a pelvic floor function concern, adding a somatic approach can help.

Can I come to you specifically for pelvic health?

Of course! I am always prepared to provide a full spectrum of treatments for pelvic floor concerns.

What should I wear to a session?

I suggest something comfortable that you can freely move in.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes in duration.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, I can offer virtual services for somatic healing, embodiment practices, and nervous system regulation.

How do I get started?
